Fran’s story of hope in the Amazon
When Fran escaped years of abuse, she didn’t know what the future would hold. She only knew she had to get her three young sons to safety.
By God’s grace and with tremendous courage, she seized an opportunity to begin again.
When our Amazon team met Fran, she had been able to purchase a small piece of land, but she and her boys were living in a shack with a dirt floor, sharing a single hammock. Building a home seemed impossible, yet Fran never stopped believing that God would provide.
God answered those prayers through a special partnership.
Together, The Paradigm Foundation, Pastor Osenildo and the local church, and our Justice & Mercy Amazon team came alongside Fran and her family to build a home where they could start a new chapter filled with hope.
Today, Fran and her children are living in a sturdy, beautiful home where they can continue rebuilding their lives. It is a place where Fran can watch her children sleep peacefully, play freely, and make new memories. It is also a place for healing and a daily reminder that God has not forgotten them.
One of the sweetest moments came when our team gathered with Pastor Osenildo to dedicate the home to the Lord. We celebrated with cake, prayed over Fran’s family, and presented her with a Bible as a reminder that the strongest foundation any home can have is Christ.
With tears in her eyes, Fran shared these words:
I always say to my kids, ‘My sons, don’t doubt. Never doubt God’s plans. It might take a little time. It might take a lot of time. But never doubt God’s plans.’
Her faith reminded all of us of God’s heart for the vulnerable. Throughout Scripture, He reveals Himself as a refuge for those who are hurting and a defender of those who are oppressed. While healing from deep wounds takes time, we are thankful this family no longer has to walk that journey alone.
We are grateful for partners like The Paradigm Foundation, who joined us in caring for them in such a practical and Christ-centered way. The Paradigm Foundation serves families living in extreme poverty by building homes as a tangible expression of God’s love. Fran’s home is a beautiful reminder of what God can do when local churches, ministry partners, and generous supporters come together to care for those in need.
Would you continue praying with us? Pray that Fran and her boys would experience God’s peace in every room of their new home. Pray that He would restore what has been broken, surround them with a loving community, and fill them with hope for the future. Pray that this home would always be a place where they encounter the love, protection, and faithfulness of their Heavenly Father.
