A PLACE TO CALL HOME

Provide a safe place for teen girls in Moldova to grow, heal, and build their future.

Give now

For more than 15 years, we have walked alongside vulnerable teenagers in Moldova, preventing human trafficking and providing a hope and a future for teens who face incredible hardship on a daily basis.  Our Transitional Living program provides safe, Christ-centered homes where boys and girls can continue their education, receive mentorship, and prepare for independent life.

As the ministry has grown and more girls in need have joined, JMI is raising funds to purchase two permanent homes for them in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova.

These homes will serve 24 vulnerable teen girls each year, providing stability, support, and a strong foundation while helping protect them from exploitation and human trafficking.

Four Key Areas of Each Home

A Place to Belong

COMMUNITY ROOM

Girls gather here for friendship, encouragement, and the life skills they need to step confidently into adulthood.

A Place to be Nourished

KITCHEN

Here, girls learn to cook, share meals, and experience the stability of food on the table each day.

A Place to Rest

BEDROOMS

For many girls, this is the first time they’ve had a bed of their own and a room shared with friends who feel like family.

A Place to Heal

COUNSELING ROOM

In this calm space, girls are heard, supported, and guided as they work through the hardships they’ve carried.

Campaign Goal

Our goal is to raise $1.9 million to secure these homes and prepare them for the girls who will live there. This includes:

Property purchase: $1.6M
Two homes in Chișinău will serve as Grace House 1 and Grace House 2.

Renovations and furnishings: $200K
Furniture, appliances, household supplies, and minor renovations needed to prepare the homes.

Operating runway: $100K
Initial support to ensure a strong transition into these permanent homes.

This investment will impact hundreds of girls in the years ahead as new students enter the program each year.

Helping to Prevent Human Trafficking

Moldova is one of the poorest countries in Eastern Europe and one of the most trafficked countries in the world. Many vulnerable children grow up without stable family support. When compulsory schooling ends after the equivalent of 9th grade, many teens are suddenly on their own without a home, guidance, or resources. These circumstances make young people especially vulnerable to exploitation and trafficking. JMI’s Transitional Living program exists to change that story.

The most important thing I learned was how to work in a team and listen to others. I also learned how to take responsibility and face challenges.

The program gave me support, new skills, and self-confidence. I always felt safe and understood that they accepted me.

Equipping Future Leaders

Our Transitional Living homes have provided hundreds of vulnerable teens with the support to move into healthy adulthood. In our homes, they receive:

  • Academic tutoring and support
  • High school and trade school tuition assistance
  • Regular access to a social worker, nurse, and counselor
  • Job and life skills training
  • English and computer classes
  • Biblical discipleship and mentorship
  • A safe, loving home environment

Through consistent mentorship and discipleship, students grow into confident, capable, faith-filled young adults. Graduates of the program pursue education, build healthy relationships, find meaningful work, and contribute positively to their communities.
