About JMI - Biblical Justice - Human Trafficking Prevention

JMI Sunday is about uniting as a church to care for the poor, the vulnerable, and the forgotten. Churches can change the world for God’s glory!

We invite your church to partner with us to transform the lives of children and teens in Moldova and the Amazon who are at risk of trafficking and abuse and lack the necessities to thrive.  You can inspire your local body of believers to become sponsors and act as the hands and feet of Christ to these young ones in need. Through sponsorship, you shine the light of the Gospel into their lives.

Why JMI Sunday?

We believe God instituted His Church to spread the Gospel of Jesus throughout the world. God also uses the Church to care for the poor, the vulnerable, and the forgotten. Therefore, JMI seeks to partner with churches and pastors so that together, we can accomplish our mission of making justice personal. By partnering with JMI, we hope to help foster your church’s desire to love the vulnerable in the name of Jesus. Each sponsorship drastically changes the life of a child, and we are thrilled that you want to present this opportunity to your church family.

Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.Ps. 82:3

JMI’s Mission

Justice & Mercy International exists to create Gospel-centered life change for the poor, the vulnerable, and the forgotten. In Moldova, we prioritize caring for children and teens who are at risk of human trafficking. In the Amazon, where 80% of the population is unreached, we train and equip jungle pastors to bring Gospel transformation to one of the most remote places in the world.

JMI Sunday FAQs

What does an event look like?

To help your planning, here are three levels to choose from:

Level 1 – Simple announcement: Show a brief JMI overview video, share why your church is promoting our organization, and invite church members to partner with us by sponsoring vulnerable children or donating to our work.

Level 2 – Personal presentation: In addition to a JMI video, someone from your church shares a 10-minute testimony of your experience with us (attending an event, going on a mission trip, sponsoring a child, etc.).

Level 3 – Worship service: Communicate with your pastor about a full service focused on caring for the vulnerable and weaving JMI’s story throughout, with a call to action at the end.

We will provide you with child sponsorship packets, videos, bulletin inserts, flyers, and other resources to choose from when planning your event.

Is there a best time of the year to host?

Although you can host JMI Sunday any time, there are two times of the year we recommend. One is in January to kick off a new year with your congregation. The other is in the early fall if your church takes a group on a mission trip with us. Hosting JMI Sunday soon after they return would allow participants to share their personal experiences and encourage others to sign up for the following year’s trip.

How many sponsorships should we aim for?

It’s our prayer for every JMI Sunday to result in about 30 vulnerable child or teen sponsorships.

What if we have leftover sponsorship packets?

Our team will make a plan with you to help those children get sponsored.
