The last increase was in October 2014, when the monthly sponsorship rate changed from $35 to $40. This is the first adjustment in nearly 12 years.

Over time, the cost of providing care has steadily increased. Essentials like food, clothing, school supplies, and hygiene items cost more than they did even a few years ago.

In Moldova, the ongoing impact of the war in Ukraine has also contributed to rising costs. At the same time, the U.S. dollar does not go as far as it once did due to changes in exchange rates.

Because of this, the current sponsorship amount no longer fully covers the cost of care for each child.

The $5 increase helps close the gap between the current sponsorship amount and the actual cost of care.

It also helps cover rising transportation costs, including fuel for our Sponsorship Coordinators who travel to visit children and families each month.

This adjustment allows us to maintain the level of care each child receives without reducing support or services.

The 13th Gift remains an important part of sponsorship and will continue to meet unexpected needs for children and families in our program. This change does not affect the purpose or impact of that gift.

• If your sponsorship is set up with automatic card payments, your monthly gift will update to $45 beginning July 1.
• If you give by bank draft (ACH), please update your authorization in the sponsor portal.
