Don’t you love it when God allows you to experience something that truly marks your heart in a way you couldn’t have dreamed? As you think about those things, it’s likely that whatever it is, you now can’t imagine your life without it.

Brazil is that experience for me! I didn’t expect it to become such a profound part of my story, but I can’t get over it. I remain in awe of God and how He is at work, especially in the Amazon region of Brazil.

A decade after my first trip to the Amazon, God called me to go, live, and serve in that region of the world alongside Justice & Mercy International! While many things felt unknown, my certainty of this call is found in Jesus, and it has been such an adventure to see His plans unfold.

As you may know, the Amazon is not just a breathtaking part of God’s creation; it’s also home to some of the most precious people on earth. Many of these people live in remote communities, often without access to necessities, education, or healthcare. But their greatest need, above all, is to know the love, salvation, and hope that only Jesus Christ can provide. God called me to be a part of His work in this region, to share the life-changing story and hope of the Gospel. 

I have been serving alongside the Justice & Mercy Amazon team in Brazil, and have witnessed the Lord do miracles through the work He has called us to do! Some of these opportunities include:

• Providing food, clothing, and medical resources to those who need it most
• Training pastors to lead their communities to Jesus through 3 Pastors’ Conferences a year.
• Supporting children in jungle villages to learn, grow, and discover all that God has for them.
• Equipping children’s leaders to minister to kids at our Annual Children’s Leaders Conference.
• Partnering with local Brazilian organizations to further God’s Kingdom in the Amazon.
• Helping lead mission trips on our hammock boat, The Splendor, with teams from the US and Brazilian churches.
• Sharing God’s story of hope with everyone we encounter!

This calling isn’t one that’s meant to be done alone. I have been blessed and honored by the many people who have chosen to be a part of my team and join with me in this call.
