Justice & Mercy Moldova has a new National Director! Gicu Luchian stepped into the role on June 1, bringing more than 14 years of professional experience in banking, financial services, and microfinance, along with a heart for serving others and investing in his community.
Gicu has already had a full summer with JMI, spending time at camps, celebrating with our Transitional Living graduates, and getting to know the staff and ministry across Moldova.
For Gicu, this new role is also personal, as he has experienced firsthand the difference a caring family and local church can make in a young person’s life.
“When I was 14, I became an orphan, but God never left me alone,” he shared. Gicu was adopted into a loving family that encouraged his faith. “Now I serve in the church, which gave me a new family.”
After a long career in Moldova’s finance sector, Gicu sensed God leading him into a new chapter with a group of like-minded people. “I said yes to the calling to join the ministry of Justice & Mercy International and to become part of this big family,” he said.
As he looks ahead, Gicu hopes to see the children and young people JMI serves grow in their faith and become leaders in their own churches and communities.
“My greatest hope for Justice & Mercy Moldova is to see lives transformed and fully dedicated to God,” he shared.
Gicu serves as a deacon at Jesus Savior Church, where he and his wife, Ana, are also involved in family ministry. They have two young children.
We are grateful to have Gicu leading our team in Moldova and look forward to all God has in store in this next season of ministry.
