The Amazon jungle is rich in nature and many people use plants to help treat medical conditions, but sadly it is not always enough. When it comes to the realities of healthcare, there is not a hospital or doctor in sight. Treating a common health problem can be easy for you and I who have access to local pharmacies, but for the Amazon people a simple health problem can quickly lead into something much more complicated. For most, it takes days, sometimes weeks paddling in a small canoe, to reach the nearest city. Once there, many of them simply cannot afford the medicine provided. Common diseases are contracted from the water due to little sanitation awareness and therefore drinking water quickly becomes contaminated for the whole family.
In July we have two teams heading to Brazil on a very special mission. They will be traveling and visiting different villages, running health clinics, creating awareness and delivering medical aid. But in order to do this we need your help! In the next month we need to raise $3,000 to provide enough medicine for the families we will reach. For years the Amazon people felt abandoned, but we are so thankful that through the work of JMI, God has shown them that they are not forgotten. Will you help us in reaching these dear people with the love of God through the basic needs of medical care?
