“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
Easter is a sacred time for Christians, as it reminds us of Jesus Christ’s ultimate sacrifice on the cross and his victory over sin and death. It is a time for deep reflection on God’s unfathomable love, which sent his only Son to redeem us.
Just as spring brings the renewal of nature, Easter brings spiritual renewal for all who believe in Jesus. It is a time of hope, where we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, who offers us eternal life and forgiveness of our sins.
At Easter, we are reminded of Jesus’s immense sacrifice but also of the promise of abundant life that He offers us. It reminds us that even in the darkest moments, there is hope in Christ, who conquered death and granted us victory.
This love, the love of Jesus Christ, the resurrected God, encourages us to advance and persevere every day.
For us pastors in this vast Amazonian expanse, it has been an immense challenge to convey the true meaning of Easter. We face various beliefs along the river. I believe that our lifestyle, inspired by the teachings of Jesus, has made all the difference. It makes them see and believe that there is indeed a faithful God at all times who longs to reveal His love and be worshipped by all His creation. And this love, the love of Jesus Christ, the resurrected God, encourages us to advance and persevere every day.
May this Easter renew our faith in Jesus Christ, celebrating his resurrection with joy and gratitude. May we share God’s love with those around us, proclaiming the message of the cross and resurrection with courage and conviction. May this Easter bring to our minds the extraordinary sacrifice He made for us and the victory He conquered over death to give us true life.
Wishing you all a “Happy Resurrection of Christ,” wishing you all a “Happy Easter.”
