Announcing the Red Hill Hope Scholarship!
For the past 11 years, Justice & Mercy International has been partnering with Living Hope, an organization based in Cape Town, South Africa. We have sent many teams to work in this beloved small community just outside Cape Town called Red Hill.
For the past year or so, we have been evaluating what it would look like to deepen our ministry there and serve the people of Red Hill in an even more meaningful way. After lots of prayer, discussion with staff in Cape Town, and planning, we’ve decided to launch the Red Hill Hope Scholarship
This program will be focused on the first grade class living in Red Hill. This age is a pivotal time in a child’s life because this is when they are required to have a uniform and other school supplies and begin going to school full-time. Many of the families in Red Hill simply do not have the means to purchase uniforms, meaning their kids are not allowed to attend school.
The $50/month scholarship provides a school uniform, school supplies, a backpack, and bi-weekly Life Skills programming in their community. It also provides ongoing support from Living Hope staff and necessities throughout the year. By giving to this scholarship, you are providing education, dignity, and hope for a child in Red Hill.
Ultimately, our hope is that Christ would be made much of in Red Hill and around the world. We believe that Jesus has called us to care for the poor, orphaned, and vulnerable for the sake of the Kingdom. May it be so in Red Hill!
- Truly He taught us to love one another;
- His law is love and His gospel is peace.
- Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother;
- And in His name all oppression shall cease.
