Mary Katharine Hunt is the Executive Director for Justice & Mercy International. Previously Mary Katharine spent 20 years investing in the ministry of LifeWay Christian Resources. Most recently she served as the Vice President of Marketing for B&H Publishing Group, a division of LifeWay.

Mary Katharine has a heart for missions and a passion for advancing the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world. Over the years, Mary Katharine has volunteered for and led dozens of mission trips to Mexico, Moldova and Brazil. She served on the inaugural Board of Directors for Justice and Mercy International in 2008.

Hunt, a native of Tennessee, is a graduate of The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. She also attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

Dr. Chris Hardy is the Director of Programs and Church Partnerships for JMI. Before joining JMI, Chris served 29 years as an ordained pastor in the local church. He most recently served 19 years on the pastoral staff at Westover Church in Greensboro, NC where he provided oversight for equipping, life development, leadership development and most recently served as Staff Pastor. His heart for missions began after college and since that time he has led multiple teams serving the vulnerable, poor and least reached people around the world.

Chris has been married to Traci for 25 years, and they have two children:  Kara-Anne and Will.  His family proudly supports JMI, and sponsors a child in Moldova and a pastor in the Amazon.

Chris, a native of Georgia, studied psychology at Berry College and counseling at the Church of God Theological Seminary. He also completed his M.Div. and D.Min. at United Theological Seminary.

Steve Davis is the Founding Director of JMI. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Dallas Baptist College, a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a M.A. from St. Mary’s in Counseling. His passion for disadvantaged children began in 1989 working with abused children on a children’s home campus in San Antonio. That position morphed into an international ministry that took him to Russia, Romania and Moldova. Serving now with JMI allows him to continue a history in Moldova that dates back to 1999 and have the privilege of implementing programming in some of the most destitute countries in the world.

Kelly Minter serves as Program Advisor and Advocate for Justice and Mercy. She came to Nashville to pursue her passion for music. After a few years of simultaneous success and struggle in the music industry, Kelly’s career and ministry path turned when LifeWay asked her to write her first Bible study. Since then, Kelly has written multiple books and Bible studies, spoken at events across the country, and taught local Bible studies.

Kelly is deeply passionate about teaching the Bible, and believes it permeates all of life. Her love for the Word of God led her to create her Cultivate Event, an event centered around Scripture, worship, prayer, and also the mission work of JMI. Through the generous support of Cultivate attendees, JMI is able to accomplish even greater work in Moldova and Brazil. 

 
Kelly‘s heart for missions grew when she was invited over a decade ago to visit the Amazon River and take a riverboat adventure to serve the forgotten people of the jungle. That first trip to the Amazon sparked Kelly‘s passion for its people and inspired her to write a book about her experiences, titled Wherever the River Runs: How A Forgotten People Renewed My Hope In The Gospel. In addition to Kelly’s trips to the Amazon she is also passionate about and committed to JMI’s work in Moldova where she has visited numerous times. Kelly is a strong supporter and participant of JMI’s annual Jungle Pastors’ Conference and says that being a part of JMI is one of the greatest joys of her life. 
Tara Owen

Finance Director

Tara Owen is the Finance Director for JMI. She is a CPA and has her Masters and BBA in Accounting from Baylor University.  She performed audits with KPMG, served as an Analyst with LifeWay, performed and managed Accounting and Operations for organizations in real estate, health care and non-profit sectors, and developed a process for a wealth management company for delivering a new financial service.

Tara loves spending time with her family, volunteering in schools her two sons attend and serving her church in various roles including 10 years as a member of the finance team.  She has a passion for sharing the love of Jesus with people around the world, and is thrilled to be a part of the ministry God is doing through JMI.

Rachel Trammell serves as Sponsorship & Program Manager for JMI. Originally from Fayetteville, Georgia, Rachel grew up in the Atlanta area and went on to earn a Journalism/Advertising degree from The University of Georgia. Prior to JMI, she served on the Student Ministry team at LifeWay Christian Resources in Nashville, and has worked with FUGE Camps in various capacities for 7 years.

There is nothing more exciting to Rachel than seeing Jesus move among people around the globe, and she finds great joy in taking the life-giving news of the Gospel to the Nations.  Rachel has participated in and led many mission trips around the world, including Zimbabwe, South Africa, Guatemala, Mexico, and more. Rachel is humbled to be joining the JMI team, and is excited to see how JMI will continue to join the beautiful work the Father is doing around the world.

Kari Bidwell serves as Mobilization and Events Manager with JMI. She originally hails from Arlington, Virginia, but did most of her growing up in Denver, Colorado.  She moved to Los Angeles to attend Azusa Pacific University, where she earned her degree in Youth Ministry and Business Administration and recently moved from San Diego to Nashville.

Growing up in a ministry family opened Kari’s eyes and heart to missions and other cultures.  She has led and participated in numerous mission trips, mostly leading young people to Europe and Israel with Royal Servants International and partnering with her parent’s ministry in several African countries. Kari has a heart for encouraging and empowering people around the world and is so excited to be working with JMI and sharing Christ’s unconditional love.

Lucy Mhondera serves as Communications & Development Manager with JMI. Lucy was born and raised in the UK and now resides in the US. She spent 17 years working in the UK Christian music industry coordinating and organizing European tours as a PR & Production Manager, before becoming Marketing Manager for Kingsway Communications for 8 years. In 2012 Lucy joined the Kingsway Trust as the Event Manager for their annual worship conference Mission Worship, bringing together her love of Mission & Worship. Lucy has a Diploma in Counseling and more recently spent two years in Germany working alongside Kainos, a not for profit that intervenes and rehabilitates victims of Human Trafficking.

In 2003 Lucy traveled to the Amazon with her family where her eyes were opened to a new world in which she saw worship and justice working hand in hand. Her family committed their lives to serving the people of the Amazon and she spent her following years traveling and serving on numerous mission trips.

Lucy has a passion to see freedom for the oppressed and hope for the hopeless. She feels privileged and excited to be a part of the JMI team to serve and love the poor, the orphaned and the forgotten.

Caryn Knight serves as Administration & Data Specialist with JMI. She was born in Mississippi, where she followed her passion for children and attained her Bachelors of Science degree in Educational Psychology/Child Development from Mississippi State University.  Then in 2008, Caryn moved to Nashville, TN.  For the past 11 years, she has made Nashville her home, including meeting and marrying her husband, Clint. In Nashville, she found her calling within corrections, using her Christian perspective to bring compassion, charity, and forgiveness to guide her work.   

Caryn finds a true connection to God by carrying out His grace through acts of charity.  Using her eclectic background, Caryn hopes to truly be an instrument of God for both JMI and the lives they touch.

Gabrielle Rivard serves as Communications & Design Specialist. She grew up in the Tampa Bay area of Florida and recently graduated from Florida Southern College with a degree in Communications and Graphic Design.

Teaching art and music to the children in her home church grew her love for working with children. She is excited to be joining JMI with a heart to serve children from different parts of the world and to see the beauty that Christ makes from the broken things in this life.

Celia Grace Denney serves as Sponsorship Coordinator with JMI. She is a native of Crossville, Tennessee and recently graduated from Lee University with a degree in Communications. Before joining the team at JMI, she served on the Student Ministry team at LifeWay Christian Resources in Nashville and worked with FUGE Camps in different roles for 5 years.

Celia Grace is passionate about the Gospel and watching Christ restore the broken. She has participated in and led many trips around the world, including Peru, Mexico, Zimbabwe, and Nepal. Celia Grace is honored to join the team at JMI and is excited for all that is to come.

Alina Magdaliuc serves as the National Director for Moldova, and oversees JMI’s ministry in the country.

Alina’s greatest desire has always been to work with children. She graduated from Belts State Teacher’s Training University with a teaching degree in English and French teacher. After working in school for 2 years and receiving her master’s degree, she began working with JMI. Her job with JMI allowed her to use her knowledge of foreign languages and child psychology in order to help abandoned, orphaned and vulnerable children.

Alina is married to Vlad and is blessed with a great family that supports her in this service to God and feels her family now includes all the kids in JMI’s Moldova programs who need her love and support.

Igor Avram leads the Transitional Living department for Justice and Mercy Moldova and also serves as a house parent for the Chisinau Boys2Leaders house. A native of Moldova, Igor graduated from the State University, with a degree in Foreign Languages. He taught English for several years at a Christian High School in Chisinau.

Recently married to Marina, they attend Holy Trinity Church in Chisinau. 

Marina Slupetchii Avram

Moldova Sponsorship Coordinator

Marina Slupetchii Avram serves as a Sponsorship Coordinator in Chisinau and also as a house parent, with her husband Igor, for the Boys2Leaders house in Chisinau. Marina, a native of Moldova, studied at the Technical University of Moldova. Marina began her work with JMI as an interpreter for JMI teams in the summer of 2018, and clearly saw that everyone involved with JMI had a profound love for children and others. She loves serving the poor, orphaned, and forgotten with my brothers and sisters.
Marina grew up in a large family with lots of kids, which taught her to be patient and work with all kinds of people. She is passionate about serving God through music and worship, as well as through outreach and evangelism. She is married to Igor. 
Tanea Ababii

Translator, Justice & Mercy Moldova

Tanea Ababii serves as a translator for JMI in Moldova. Born into a large Moldovan family, she grew up in an orphanage and was sponsored by JMI while there. She moved into Grace House, JMI’s Transitional Living house for girls in Chisinau and has since graduated to JMI’s Independent Living Program. Tanea has a love for kids, especially for those who are less fortunate and need love. She is passionate about photography and loves serving others like she has been served.  

 

Ecaterina (Katea) Tentiuc

Ecaterina (Katea) Tentiuc

Head of Sponsorship Department, Justice & Mercy Moldova

Ecaterina Tentiuc leads the Sponsorship Department for Justice and Mercy Moldova and oversees the coordinators who serve children in the 25 villages where JMI sponsors children. She graduated from Moldova State University, from the college of foreign languages with a degree in English and French education. She attends Bethel Church in Chisinau and works with children and youth, where she lead the youth group for a number of years. She also taught Sunday school at her church. 

Cezara Moscalciuc

Cezara Moscalciuc serves as a Sponsorship Coordinator with JMI Moldova. She graduated from Alecu Russo Balti State University in the Foreign Languages Department where she studied English and German. Her work with JMI allows her to combine her passion for languages and love for children. 

Her first experience with JMI was unforgettable, as it was the first time she met people with such big hearts (the sponsors) and saw so many difficult circumstances ( the children). She was so impressed and as a result changed her life values.

Ala Schimbatari serves as a Sponsorship Coordinator with JMI Moldova. A native of Moldova, she finished school at the National College of Commerce and at the University of European Studies of Moldova. God called her to serve others like she has been served by others. Jesus saved her life and she am blessed to have Him. She attends Doxa Deo Church in Chisinau-which means “Glory to God”.  
Galina Sazichina

Transitional Living Girls Staff Balti, Justice & Mercy Moldova

Galina Sazichina serves in the Transitional Living Department as a house parent for Grace House in Balti. She has worked with children, teaching Sunday School for many years. In 2004 she graduated from Irpin Bible Seminary in the Ukraine with a degree in Christian Education and Sign Language. Since 2002 she has been working with the deaf population all over Moldova. In her ministry, she leads camps, Bible lessons, and fellowships.

My name is Jana Polevaia. I was born on April 26, 1991. I graduated from State University from Psychology Faculty. I was baptized in 2012 and since then I have been member of Jesus Savior church in Chisinau. I have been working for JMI since November 2014. For me it is a blessing to work for JMI, a great privilege to serve the Lord through this program. God works in a miraculous way and has a great plan for each child from JMI programs.

Arsenie was born and raised in Balti. He grew up in a Christian family, where he learned about God from a children’s Bible. He fell in love with God so much that even as a young child he wanted to become a missionary; his first sermons were to the other children at his kindergarten. After finishing school, he studied pastoral theology at the Baptist institute in Bucharest, Romania. Then he returned to Moldova guided by the verses in Habakkuk 3:17 -18.

Since returning home to Moldova in 2013, he has been involved in Emanuel Church, serving children and teenagers and teaching various trainings. In 2018 he joined the JMI team where he is able to apply his knowledge and love God through loving others. Now, he is thrilled to be working with a great team and considers it an honor to be play a part in the story God has for Moldova.

My name is Inna. In 2008 I was baptized in a local church and ever since then I’ve had a passion for serving kids and teenagers. In 2014 I graduated from University with Social Assistant degree. In May of 2017 he married Vera, who he met at Balti Church Emanuel. Petru and Vera are proud Moldovans who have big dreams for their country, and hope to serve the Lord there for a long time. Being a part of JMI is a dream come true for them.

Varvara was born in Balti. She has spent all her life working with kids. Varvara’s
parents worked in a school, so, at a young age Varvara was surrounded by
their students. Then, as she got older, after graduating Balti State University, Varvara
became a teacher. While working as a teacher, it was a priority for Varvara tried to teach her students things like respect, loving your neighbor, and serving others. 
This is why Varvara is so happy to be a part of JMI and serve God through helping children.

My name is Alina Platenco. I grew up in a big family in a Christian home. My father was a deacon and
my mother was a Sunday school teacher, and we’ve always been involved in church. At 14 years I began to work as a leader in the organization “Girls of God”.  I was also a teacher of Sunday school for 3 years in my home church. In 2017 I graduated from Alecu Russo Balti State University, the faculty of “English and German Literature”. Now I am working on getting my masters as a translator. I always want to serve God and to help people. JMI gave me the opportunity to be a light of hope for so many unhappy people. I am happy to be a part of this team and to work for God’s glory.

Sarah was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She is married to Magno Rodrigues and lives in Manaus, Amazon. At the age of seventeen, God called her to full-time ministry. Sarah received degrees from the South of Brazil Baptist Theological Seminary in Theology and the Baptist College of Florida in Missions. Sarah’s greatest joy is to be used in any shape, form, time or place by God. She feels God has blessed her with the privilege of serving Him among the people in the Amazon. Her desire is to bring the lost into a true understanding of Christ and what He has done for us and to mobilize and train God’s people to fulfill the Great Commission.

Thalita was born in the city of Manaus, Amazon. She is a graduate in Tourism and now manages finances and logistics for Justice & Mercy Amazon. Thalita primarily focuses on taking care of our sponsored special needs children, partnering with jungle pastors and visiting the river communities in order to help families. She also helps with the logistics of all of JMA’s short-term mission trips.

Lucas Teles serves as the Ministry Training Coordinator for Justice & Mercy Amazon. He was born in Manaus, Amazon in Brazil. Previously, Lucas attended Law School and earned his Law degree. Later on, God called him to move to Dallas to attend a Bible College, Christ For The Nations, for 4 years. There, he earned his degree in Evangelism and Pastoral Ministry. He recently moved from Dallas back to Brazil. Lucas is such a people person–he loves meeting new people and learning new things. He has a heart for encouraging, inspiring and empowering people around him. He loves to see people accept Jesus for the first time in their lives and watch their transformation. Lucas is excited to put his passions and skills to good use by working to advance the Kingdom of God in the Amazon.

Stephanie was born in Manaus, Brazil. She spent five years being a tutor for kids that weren’t doing well in school. Alongside this, she worked with the children’s ministry at her church at the time. Stephanie is passionate about learning and teaching, she believes that children are the most urgent matter in our world and that everyone should work together so that they can grow in mind, body and spirit. She is graduating at Amazonas State University on a Portuguese Language and Literature degree. She loves to serve children not only by teaching them the love of God, but also helping develop to the max of the potential they were created to be.
