Four Kids Who Need Someone Like You

JMI’s Transitional Living program exists to meet the needs of Moldova’s most vulnerable young adults. This program has been life changing for many young men and women. It offers once-orphaned teens a chance at a safe place to live, educational support, gospel community, life skills training, financial assistance, and much more.

Below are 4 young men and women who have been nominated for the program but need sponsors. Would you join us as a partial or full sponsor?

AlexeiMeet Alexei Chillian

Boys to Leaders

Alexei was born in February 2000 in the small village of Micauti. Alexei has a relationship with his mother but has never met his father. Alexei’s mother has epilepsy and is unable to properly care for him, which is why he came to Straseni Orphanage at the age of 7. Alexei recently graduated from the orphanage and he hopes to enter the Medical College. He dreams of becoming a doctor because he wants to help his mother to heal. Alexei has been nominated for our Boys to Leaders program. Would you come alongside him?

Meet Mihaela Lacatus

Grace House

Mihaela  was born on July 19, 2000 in the rural Moldovan village Micauti. When she was 3 years old her father died due to a heart attack, leaving her mother to care for the family. The broken economy in Moldova has forced her mother to travel abroad to work. Then, in 2007, Mihaela’s mother tragically died in a car wreck. At 7 years old, Mihaela was left with only her brother, Veceslav. Their grandmother did her best to care for them but struggled to do so as a retiree. So, she had to send Mihaela and her brother to the orphanage that became their home for the next 9 years. This year, Mihaela graduated from school and has hopes of entering college to continue her studies with a focus in administration.

Meet Svetlana Arnaut

Both of her parents have struggled to find good jobs and make ends meet. Her parents have both had problems with alcoholism which has taken a toll on their entire family. Due to the living conditions of her home, all of the children were sent to live at Straseni Orphanage; Svetlana was in kindergarten at the time and spent her entire childhood at the Orphanage. Now, she has graduated and has hopes continue her studies at a professional school, studying textiles. Will you partner with us to help Svetlana build a future of hope and promise?
