Appalachia

Join Rolling Hills Community Church as we travel to Leslie County, Kentucky Oct. 15th-19th 2010 for a mission trip!
Leslie County is the 15th poorest county in the United States based on median household income. According to the US Census Bureau, the median income of a household in Leslie County is $18,500, compared to a median household income of $70,000 in Williamson County TN. Yet, Leslie County is not lacking in rich culture, strong family units and beautiful scenery.
While in Kentucky, Rolling Hills will partner with Big Creek Missions to host day camps for children, distribute food and clothes to families in need, participate in construction projects and work in local elementary schools. Also, this trip will provide you an opportunity to better understand Appalachian culture as you minister to, love on and get to know people–while addressing issues of poverty, education and spiritual lostness.
This trip would be a great opportunity for you, a friend or even a family to serve together as the total estimated cost is just $200 per participant. Also, we have needs on this trip for those who are gifted professionally in A/V tech, staging and lighting. An informational gathering will be held on Sunday, August 29 at 12:30 p.m. in the Rolling Hills conference room. If you have any questions, please contact jason@rollinghillscommuntiy.org
