Flood season in the Amazon impacts over 167 million people, leaving them without access to food and basic necessities.We are always looking for ways to bring relief to these families who face hunger during the flood season and this May we are proud and excited to join as a beneficiary of the Samsung 5K Solidarity Race in Manaus, Brazil.
The race promotes active and healthy lifestyles all while reaching the needs of hundreds of families without food. Justice and Mercy Amazon was selected to be one of the non-profit organizations that will receive food bags collected by the participants on race day. Last year 9,000 participants donated 4.5 tons of food!
The run will kick-off at 8am on May 26th and will be a day filled with fun, exercise, and generosity. Consequently, our summer mission teams and pastors will then deliver these food donations to flooded areas in June and July of this year.
