Building a Sleeping Pavilion for Jungle Pastors
Every year, hundreds of pastors travel to attend our Jungle Pastors’ Conferences at the John Paculabo Center. These men and women pour out their lives in ministry, often serving in remote villages with few resources. When they come, they come weary. This is their time to be renewed, encouraged, and equipped.
Right now, after long days of teaching, worship, and fellowship, these pastors sleep aboard our hammock boat, The Splendor, docked at the riverbank. Each day, they must climb over 100 steep steps to reach the conference center—a difficult and exhausting journey, especially for elderly pastors.
We are changing that.
We are building a simple, open-air sleeping pavilion adjacent to our cafeteria, giving pastors a comfortable place to rest so they can fully receive the refreshment they need. This 100ft x 50ft facility will accommodate 150 pastors in hammocks and will also include:
- 12 new bathrooms and showers
- Upgraded sewer and electrical systems to support future growth
- Large fans to ventilate the space
- Sustainable and durable materials suitable for the Amazon climate
-
A peaceful, accessible resting space—steps away from the conference
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we have fully funded this project!
With construction underway, our goal is to have the pavilion ready in time for the first Jungle Pastors’ Conference in February 2026.
This project will directly impact the lives of pastors and missionaries who are spreading the Gospel and serving communities deep in the jungle. The new facility eliminates a major accessibility challenge, improves the overall conference experience, and strengthens the reach and effectiveness of JMI’s ministry in the region.
We invite you to join us in prayer as we build this place of rest and renewal for those dedicated to sharing God’s love in the Amazon.
