As Steve experienced Moldova for the very first time in 1999, he saw the tragedy, urgency, and incredible need that the children faced on a daily basis. From that day forward he became an advocate for some of the most vulnerable children in this world, and now 20 years later, JMI has four Transitional Living homes, and 800+ vulnerable children sponsored through our programs in Moldova. God has done an incredible work that started through the faithfulness of one man who was willing to answer the call.
In 2019, Steve retired from his full-time role with JMI, but he will forever stay invested in the work of JMI and continues to spend time taking teams to Moldova. In honor of Steve and all that he has done for the children of Moldova, it is our great privilege to introduce you to the Steve Davis Heart for Moldova Fund.
As we run our programs every month, we are seeing transformation and lives changed. It is our prayer to see the next generation of Moldovans rise up and change their country. We are so thankful for all our partners who are investing in our kids and programs. However, sponsorship donations do not cover all of the expenses JMI has in Moldova each month. As we continue to expand our programs, there is a need to hire more indigenous staff to oversee the work. Also, our Transitional Living program is the most expensive program we manage, and it costs annually at least $140,000 more than what we are able to bring in through sponsorship of these teens. This fund will be available to specifically cover these additional needs in Moldova.
Steve stood in the gap as a voice for those who have no voice. Would you consider standing in the gap financially, enabling us to continue running our programs more effectively, as we make a difference in the lives of so many vulnerable young people in Moldova?
