Christmas in Moldova 2021
December 27, 2021 - January 3, 2022
Christmas in Moldova is all about bringing the love, joy and hope of Christmas to orphaned, abandoned and underprivileged children. Our team will visit one or two sites daily, whether that be orphanages, shelters or villages. We will present a three-hour program that includes sharing the story of Christ’s birth, singing, crafts, recreation/games, skits, and the distribution of individual gifts for every child in attendance. When the team isn’t programming, we will be purchasing fruit and goodies for gift bags and wrapping gifts. Depending on our team size, the team will split up each day to visit more places. This team allows for a maximum of 25 people and has an age requirement of 15+ years old.

There will be several forms/applications that you will be asked to complete. Kari Bidwell and your team leader will follow up with you on these forms. JMI also does a background check on any new trip participant or other participants who have not had a background check with us within the last 2 years.
There are no REQUIRED immunizations for travel to Moldova, but several suggestions by the CDC. We recommend that you check with your primary care physician and decide together which immunizations make sense for you.
JMI is keeping a close eye on COVID restrictions. While JMI doesn’t technically require proof of a vaccination for this trip, due to a required 14 day quarantine required by the Moldovan government it would be impossible for you to do without one. Vaccinated individuals just need to show their vaccination card to enter. Everyone must get covid tested before returning back to the states. We are monitoring all Covid updates closely and will keep you updated.
Also, we know there are many strong opinions about masking or not masking. JMI wants you to know that if you sign up for this trip you agree to wear a mask whenever a JMI staff person asks you to or the Moldovan government requires it. We want to be respectful and careful around those most vulnerable that we will be working with. Thank you for your understanding!
