Join us in welcoming two new staff members!

Lucy Mhondera, Mission Development Specialist
Lucy was born and raised in the UK and now resides in the US. She spent 17 years working in the UK Christian music industry coordinating and organizing European tours as a PR & Production Manager, before becoming Marketing Manager for Kingsway Communications for 8 years. In 2012 Lucy joined the Kingsway Trust as the Event Manager for their annual worship conference Mission Worship, bringing together her love of Mission & Worship. Lucy has a Diploma in Counseling and more recently spent two years in Germany working alongside Kainos, a not for profit that intervenes and rehabilitates victims of Human Trafficking.

In 2003 Lucy travelled to the Amazon with her family where her eyes were opened to a new world in which she saw worship and justice working hand in hand. Her family committed their lives to serving the people of the Amazon and she spent her following years traveling and serving on numerous mission trips.

Lucy has a passion to see freedom for the oppressed and hope for the hopeless. She feels privileged and excited to be a part of the JMI team to serve and love the poor, the orphaned and the forgotten.

Lucas Teles, Ministry Training Coordinator in the Amazon
Lucas Teles serves as the Ministry Training Coordinator for Justice & Mercy Amazon. He was born in Manaus, Amazon in Brazil. Previously, Lucas attended Law School and earned his Law degree. Later on, God called him to move to Dallas to attend a Bible College, Christ For The Nations, for 4 years. There, he earned his degree in Evangelism and Pastoral Ministry. He recently moved from Dallas back to Brazil. Lucas is such a people person–he loves meeting new people and learning new things. He has a heart for encouraging, inspiring and empowering people around him. He loves to see people accept Jesus for the first time in their lives and watch their transformation. Lucas is excited to put his passions and skills to good use by working to advance the Kingdom of God in the Amazon.

Anatolli Bahilov, Sponsorship Coordinator in Moldova

My name is Anatolii Bahilov. I was born on November 5, 1988. I graduated from Alecu Russo Balti State University, the Faculty of Foreign Languages as an English teacher. I started working with kids living in poor families and orphanages since I was 14, volunteering for different missions and serving as a Sunday School teacher/assistant in my church. I came to know Christ being a child and now  I believe that He uses me in the same way – to help children know about Him and His love. For me it is a big privilege and honor to be a part of JMI’s mission work in Moldova.

Arseni Antoceanu, Sponsorship Coordinator in Moldova

Arsenie was born and raised in Balti. He grew up in a Christian family, where he learned about God from a children’s Bible. He fell in love with God so much that even as a young child he wanted to become a missionary; his first sermons were to the other children at his kindergarten. After finishing school, he studied pastoral theology at the Baptist institute in Bucharest, Romania. Then he returned to Moldova guided by the verses in Habakkuk 3:17 -18.

Since returning home to Moldova in 2013, he has been involved in Emanuel Church, serving children and teenagers and teaching various trainings. In 2018 he joined the JMI team where he is able to apply his knowledge and love God through loving others. Now, he is thrilled to be working with a great team and considers it an honor to be play a part in the story God has for Moldova.

Oleg Polevio, Vocational Director in Moldova

My name is Oleg Polevoi. I was born in Moldova and I studied at the Balti State University, Faculty of Real, Economic and Environmental Sciences. Being engaged in a variety of things, God eventually called me to serve children. I had been in children’s ministry and teen ministry for 9 years until the Lord presented me with a new opportunity to glorify him- working at JMI.
