We are JMI

“We are JMI!” That’s more than a slogan. It’s a reality for which I’m grateful!

Every time I’m around a group who has been on mission with us or speaking with a sponsor, I hear people talking about kids I don’t remember or something going on in a child’s life of which I was completely unaware! And when I do, I thank God that JMI is so much more than a few paid employees. We are people bound by a common, driving passion to have our lives make a tangible difference in the life of someone else who is in desperate need…many eyes, many ears and many hearts united in a common cause to see God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven!

Occasionally, someone steps out of the crowd to do something really out of the ordinary and worthy of celebration. We thought you’d enjoy reading about the creative ways others are finding to express their love and support on behalf of needs around the world. Enjoy and be inspired!

Do you believe in destiny? Do you believe, for instance, that certain people are pre-destined to be saved?  What about that person you’re married to?…destiny or random choice?  Or how about the disease or tragedy someone in your life is presently battling?  Is there a purpose to it or do those things just happen because [...]

21 “I hate, I despise your religious festivals; your assemblies are a stench to me.  22 Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them.  Though you bring choice fellowship offerings,I will have no regard for them.  23 Away with the noise of your songs!   I will not listen to the music of [...]

Are you angry or depressed by all the news of a world enflamed against the United States? Making a Difference a World Away

Every summer my church sends a team of volunteers to minister to orphans in Moldova. And every summer we take one Sunday morning to hear from those volunteers about their trip. My first visit to Rolling Hills coincided with one of those Moldova reports, and that was all I needed to know that this was the church for me.

F.A.I.T.H. Riders Partnership

Partnering with JMI will be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, ministry opportunity F.A.I.T.H. Riders has ever had. With God’s prompting my wife Michele and I traveled to Moldova this past December.  The only sure thing about the trip Michele and I knew was that God said go!  Everything else was a mystery. To [...]

Feast or Famine

You are invited to JMI’s FEAST OR FAMINE Dinner Wednesday, November 16th at 6 p.m. There are few things as hard in life as staring into the eyes of a hungry person. Most of us – even, if not especially, followers of Christ – reflexively look away.  Why do we do that?  For me, it is a combination of [...]

Shopping With A Purpose

Amanda Sanfilippo is someone we endearingly refer to as “a Moldova-head” in much the same way that “Parrot-heads” are Jimmy Buffett fans.  She has worked with our orphan friends on many occasions there and has mastered many of the songs in Romanian with which the rest of us continue [...]

The Mission Moment

One of the real blessings of our ministry is watching how God moves in the lives of people once they’ve been exposed to the plight of children around the world.  Jason Cruise went to Moldova for the first time this summer and returned with his heart broken for the orphaned and abandoned children who are [...]

It all started with a dare…

I have been involved with JMI since the first of my five trips to Moldova in 2006. The first trip started off on a dare with another man in my church, that if he went, I would go along on a construction team. That trip has changed both of our lives with my friend eventually taking into his home an orphan from Moldova.
