War and Threats of War

safrica-5JMI espouses the notion that men should live in peace by all means possible. Our mission in this area is not to be a commentator on the perceived evils or virtues of necessary war, but to offer help to those adversely affected by conflict. Whether encouraging soldiers on the field through letters and gifts or offering humanitarian relief to the injured, orphaned or dispossessed, JMI seeks to be redemptive to those who have been harmed or are in harm’s way.

  • Of the 12 million refugees in the world, half of them are children. Each day, 5000 more children become refugees.
  • There are currently 300,000 children under 18 fighting in wars around the world.
  • 8,000 to 10,000 children are killed or disabled by land mines every year.
  • in the past decade, more than 2 million children have been killed and more than 10 million injured or disabled in armed conflicts.

“Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.” – Matthew 5:9
