Facilitating summer camping activities for orphaned and abandoned children using translators (singing, recreation, crafts, teaching life skills, spiritual development)

High: long flight; long days; warm to hot weather; lugging bags and supplies; team house accommodations; poor health care availability

Brazil

Dates:

Description:

Traveling up the Amazon and its tributaries offering a variety of services (food distribution; assembly of water purification systems; VBS-type activities with children; parenting training; medical/dental; training for jungle pastors; support of soup kitchen; assessment of microenterprise opportunities

Physicality of trip:

Moderate: moderate length of flight; high humidity; sleep in hammocks on boat; travel to remote areas with no emergency access to health care

Description:

Facilitating children’s programming for school age children & conducting National Conference for church leaders, youth workers & children’s leaders.

Physicality of Trip:

Moderate: Medium flight; warm weather; nice accommodations; standard health care though not quickly obtained

Dates:

  • Feb 22 – Mar 6, 2011

Description:

Conducting a spiritual growth retreat for Life Skills Educators; as Kids’ Club, life skills education, and a variety of adult ministries in Red Hill (near Cape Town); light construction projects, all with our ministry partners at Living Hope Community Centre (www.livinghope.co.za)
